Life is full of ups and downs. We all have a story. When we find those we can relate to, our story changes. We can change our story.
In 2013, we were ‘coasting’ in life. Daily grind, come home, take care of kids, bed – start over. I was a Director for a Software Development company. I had been through my share of layoffs, growth, good times, and bad times. I had made it to a senior level position, but I was also working 80+ a week. Through much soul searching, my husband and I decided I should stop – for our family’s and my own health. I changed careers completely to have more time with my two-year old. The roller coaster of change started here.
In 2013, my uncle passed away.
In 2014, my mom had a pretty serious fall.
In 2015, my best friend, Tara, was taken in a tragic accident at the young age of 39, leaving 4-year-old twins behind.
One month later, my grandfather also passed.
I was lost.
I existed for my daughter and Tara’s twins. I had always struggled with migraines and, to some extent, anxiety. The events in 2015, ‘pushed me over’. I was on several prescriptions for migraines and anxiety and my addiction to anxiety medication was growing (to get through each day). I was first introduced to oils by that best friend who passed away – dismissed them – I have a very skeptical and logical technology based brain. Essential oils did not follow ‘what I knew’. I was introduced again when the anxiety was getting away from me. I was at the end of my rope, so I decided I had nothing to lose. The changes in my and my family’s health since that moment have been dramatic and life changing.
In 2016, we made our way back to church after another family loss. Later that year, we were baptized, and I finally started grief classes and actually dealing (without anxiety medications!). We were also blessed with a surprise that year – a new baby girl. Our family is stronger than it has ever been. We have learned that there is a purpose for every path God takes us down – even the ones we don’t like. We have changed our story. We want to help you change yours.
